Board of Directors

The Justice Education Society’s Board of Directors is comprised of representatives of our Partners as well as other major stakeholders in the justice system, the education system, and BC communities.

The Chief Justice of British Columbia appoints one representative justice from the Court of Appeal. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of BC appoints one representative justice from the Supreme Court and the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court appoints one representative judge from the Provincial Court.

Three representatives of the Ministry of Attorney General are appointed by the Attorney General. Currently, they represent the Criminal Justice Branch, the Family Justice Branch, and the Court Services Branch.

The BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of BC, the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General and the Minister of Education each appoint one representative.

These 10 directors appoint three community directors: one representing schools and other educational organizations, another representing the interests of Aboriginal communities, and the third representing immigrant and cultural communities.
